How Hurricanes Cause Flooding in Homes and Businesses in Cincinnati

Flooding can occur from heavy rainfall, river overflow, or storm-driven water entering your property. Water intrusion may reach basements, attics, or living rooms. Secondary issues include appliance leaks, lingering moisture, and air-quality problems.

  • Flooring and wall damage from standing water
  • Furniture saturation and loss
  • Mold growth in damp areas
  • Damaged HVAC systems or ductwork
  • Lingering odors from moisture
  • Potential contamination from unsanitary water

Wind Damage from Hurricanes and Tropical Storms

Even weakened storms produce tropical-force winds that can severely damage structures. Roofs, ceilings, and attics are particularly vulnerable. Fallen branches and loose debris further risk your safety and your property's stability.

  • Shingle loss and roof compromise
  • Siding damage on homes and businesses
  • Gutter tearing or collapse
  • Broken windows and doors
  • Weakened structural areas
  • Tree and branch impact on roofs or vehicles

Power Outages and Secondary Damage

Prolonged power loss from hurricanes can lead to fire hazards. This can cause electrical issues that can damage appliances and water systems.

Without climate control, homes and businesses may develop mold, odors, and other air-quality issues. Secondary water damage, food spoilage, and lingering property problems are also common. All of this makes it more crucial to contact professional restoration services as quickly as possible.

Cincinnati, OH

Teasdale Fenton responded to a flooded lower level due to a failed sump pump within 90 minutes of being called on a Friday night. Corey and Zack efficiently cleared what needed to be moved out of the way and then removed the water. They set up fans and a large dehumidifier. The next day a team came out to check on everything and measured for dampness.

Cincinnati, OH

We had a pipe burst in our attic over a weekend and called Teasdale- Fenton. They sent someone out same-day to quote us on cleanup from the water leak and sent a team out the following day to remove wet insulation and leave Fans to dry everything out. Before removing the fans they moisture tested the whole area. Very pleased with their prompt and professional service.
