The customer contacted us for professional mold mitigation after discovering extensive fungal growth on the wood sheathing inside their attic. Inadequate attic ventilation combined with escaping household humidity created a microclimate of high moisture condensation along the roof decking, leading to widespread dark mold colonies that threatened both the structural timber and the property's indoor air quality.
We executed a targeted attic mold remediation and safety protocol to fully eliminate the fungal colonization. Operating in full personal protective equipment (PPE)—including specialized half-mask respirators with P100 particulate filters—our technicians set up HEPA-filtered negative air containment to ensure spores would not migrate into the lower living spaces. We utilized high-efficiency HEPA vacuums to carefully clear surface spore structures from the attic roof deck and wooden rafters. Following the mechanical removal, we treated the affected plywood sheathing with an industrial-strength antimicrobial biocide to neutralize deep-seated fungal roots and applied a protective stain-removing treatment to remediate the cosmetic damage on the timber.
