The customer contacted us for emergency mitigation after heavy storms caused outdoor flash flooding to pool against their sliding glass patio door. The exterior water level rose higher than the track threshold, breaching the seal and flowing directly into the indoor living space, which left standing water puddles across the wood-look laminate flooring and threatened nearby furniture and toys.
Our team executed an immediate extraction and surface stabilization protocol to mitigate further structural damage. First, we deployed professional extraction wands to pull the standing water off the laminate floor surface and out of the sliding door track assembly. Next, we carefully moved exposed furniture items, toys, and personal belongings out of the wet zones to prevent finish bleeding or secondary water damage. Because outdoor runoff is classified as Category 3 "black water" and introduces environmental contaminants, we applied a thorough bio-wash and an EPA-approved antimicrobial sanitizer across the affected flooring to eliminate potential pathogens. Finally, we deployed commercial low-profile air movers to create a high-velocity drying path across the wood-look planks, safely stabilizing the structural area before secondary warping or buckling could occur.
