The customer contacted us to address a basement water intrusion incident likely originating from a failure in the utility closet (hot water heater or HVAC system). The water affected porous materials including wall-to-wall carpeting, wood paneling, and stored personal items, creating a high risk for mold growth and structural deterioration in the finished basement area.
Our team executed an emergency water mitigation and contents management plan. Source Inspection & Assessment: Evaluated the utility closet and appliances to identify the failure point and determine the extent of moisture migration under the carpet and behind wood paneling. Contents Salvage & Protection: Carefully moved and organized personal belongings to prevent further secondary damage and facilitate the drying process. Debris Removal: Bagged and hauled away saturated, non-salvageable materials to sanitize the environment. Strategic Air Flow: Deployed industrial floor fans to begin the evaporation and structural drying process for the impacted carpeted surfaces.
